At Camp Hill Comets, we love the thrill of competition and we love basketball, but we believe true excellence starts with development and enjoying the game. We’re a local club with big energy: focused on teaching foundational and technical skills, building confidence, and helping every player chase their potential to be the best they can be at any level of the game.
We’re all about inclusivity, sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and part of something special. Yes, we play to win, but we also play to learn, to grow, and to have fun. Expect hard work, high standards and lots of fun along the way.

Matt Gellweiler - President
Matt is passionate about teaching the fundamentals and ensuring every player has the chance to build confidence and improve at their own pace. In addition to his work with the Comets, Matt is an experienced club and representative coach, where he continues to deepen his coaching expertise. Whether he’s mentoring players, organising programs, or cheering from the sidelines, Matt is the heart and soul of the Comets family.

Chris Bounos - Treasurer
Chris is a dedicated and highly valued member of the Comets family, bringing passion, commitment, and knowledge of the game and to his role as Treasurer. Proud to be part of the club’s journey, Chris shares the committee’s vision for continued growth and development across all age groups.
Lauren Gellweiler (Loz) - Interim Secretary / General Committee Member
Surrounded by mad basketballers at home, Loz spends her days with two devoted hoop fanatics, her husband Matt and their son Leo, much to the delight of her daughter. A genuine lover of the sport, Loz has even put her money where her mouth is playing in a women’s social league, though she has since retired! For Loz, the best part of basketball is the way it brings people together and gives kids a chance to play a sport they love in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Her dedication, warmth, and community spirit make her an invaluable part of the committee.
While Loz is committed to remaining a member of the Comets Committee, her role as Secretary is interim until a permanent member in this capacity is elected. Loz will continue on in the capacity of Social Media, Events and general all rounder.

Nicole Cunningham - Uniform Coordinator / General Committee Member
Nic is our extraordinary uniform coordinator and general member of the Comets Committee. She’s also a mum to a number of bball-obsessed players and brings enthusiasm, creativity, and an awesome sense of humor to everything she does. Whether it’s coordinating uniforms or lending a helping hand wherever needed, Nic is one of the Comets’ biggest assets.
